Our Current Ride, a 2012 Impreza WRX

Arizona Auto Scene seems to through a lot of rides.  From our 08 Mustang Bullitt, to an 09 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart, out 87 Buick Regal “Project 187” to our current ride.

Since July, Arizona Auto Scene has been rolling in a 2012 Subaru WRX.  It’s not a V-8, but in its stock configuration it turns the same quarter mile times at our 08 Bullitt, a respectable 13.7 from a 4 cylinder boxer motor.

Unfortunately, whether it’s the drag strip or the road course, both suitable for this car, it’ll probably never get a bit of track time.  We’re too busy covering these events to participate.  Our Turbo Regal sat in the staging lanes on more than one occasion and never made a pass down the track.

The WRX is a blast to drive.  It’s all wheel drive with a 5 speed manual transmission.  The turbo 4 cylinder box configuration engine puts out 265 HP out of the factory.  It can get out of its own way, but we may throw a tune on it in the future.  If we do, we’ll certainly cover it here.
