Russo and Steele Kicks Off their 2014 Scottsdale Collector Automobile Auction

Scottsdale Collector Auction Preview 2014

Scottsdale, ARIZ. (January 14, 2014) – Russo and Steele kicked off their 2014 Scottsdale auction today with a diverse blend of old and new.  The first car to cross the 2014 Scottsdale auction block was a 2002 Porsche Boxter convertible.  It was followed by a 1970 Dodge Charger coupe.

With 784 classic, collector, muscle and vintage cars crossing the block in just four days, Russo and Steele’s Drew Alcazar has his work cut out for him.  His passion for the collector automobiles that cross his path has him on the block for just about every one of them.

Arizona Auto Scene was on Russo and Steele’s auction block Thursday afternoon to take in the action.  While there we watched several cars and trucks run before a room full of bidders.  Watching just 15 of the 399 car anticipated to cross the block on Thursday, the highest hammer price we saw was $19,000.  Two cars met this mark, a 1995 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 and a replica of a 1972 Volkswagen 550 Spyder.  Though the numbers may seem low, keep in mind that half of Russo and Steele’s consigned inventory is crossing the block on the first day of the four day auction.

Some of Friday’s consignments include a 2013 Dodge Viper GTS “Sons of Italy”, a 1968 Shelby GT500 Fastback, a 1968 Shelby GT500KR Convertible, a 1969 Plymouth GTX Coup, a 1972 Chevrolet Nova Coupe, a 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Roadster, and a 1986 Porsche 911 Turbo Coupe Slant Nose all crossing the block.

Saturday’s consignments include a 1959 Maserati Tipo 61 “Bird Cage,” a 1969 Chevrolet Yenko Camaro Coupe, a 1966 Lamborghini 350GT – early production Coupe, 1963 Pontiac Lemans Super Duty Factory Lightweight Coupe, a 1971 Dodge Hemi Challenger Coupe, a 1931 Bugatti Type 51 Pur Sang Mono Posto, a 1965 McKee Sports Racer / Can Am Race Car and much much more.  Many of these cars are expected to bring in some big money.

Russo and Steele is the one Scottsdale collector automobile auction the will put you closest to the auction floor and bidding action than any other auction.  You’ll walk out feeling like you were truly part of the bidding action.

The Russo and Steele collector automobile auction continues through Sunday.  It’s located just east of Scottsdale Road on Mayo, just south of the Loop 101.
