Garrett Turbo’s Boost Fest Brings the Horsepower to the Tracks at Wild Horse Pass

Garrett Turbo's Boost Fest Brings the Horsepower to the Park

Chandler, ARIZ. (December 6, 2014) – Forced induction high horsepower drift and drag race cars made their way to the Valley of the Sun Saturday for the Garrett Turbos sponsored Boost Fest at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park.  Boosted cars and motorcycles raced throughout the day, taking turns sharing the track’s return road as it would be transitioned into a portion of the drift circuit when the action on the dragstrip took a break.

Kicking off its inaugural event right here in our own back yard was pretty cool.  Rewarding its customers and distributors, Garrett Turbos allowed spectators into the event free of charge.  Tech cards to race were just $20.00.  With short notice promotion of the event taking place primarily through social media, drag racers got a great  deal as they were pretty much able to hot lap their rides during the drag racing sessions.

Garrett Turbo's Boost Fest Brings the Horsepower to the ParkDrifters from near and far put their cars through the paces on the drift circuit.  Professional drivers such as Corey Hosford from Formula Drift to many of our regulars at Go Fast Entertainment’s Drift & Drag racing series left plenty of rubber on the asphalt as they did their best to drive the circuit sideways while spinning the rear tires.  Some of the more seasoned drivers came out from under the Bondurant bridge two wide, racing through the course in close proximity to one another in controlled chaos.  The free entry drew in at least a couple thousand fans who lined the fence along the upper pits and top row of the grand stands to take in the action.

The event may have been for exhibition only, but some took the opportunity to make the most of the day.  Some took the opportunity to make the most of the drag racing to finish up licensing passes.  Rob Parsons finished up his licensing passes in his ’93 ford lightning after putting down a couple of 9.08 passes down the quarter mile.

Fresh off a win at the Street Car Super Nationals, the Turbos Direct Camaro, piloted by Rick Snavely to a 5.856 at 252.61 mph was on display in the Turbos Direct booth.  There was also plenty of turbo eye candy out on their display tables as well.  For its first event with little to no promotion, Head of Marketing for Turbos Direct James Cashen tells Arizona Auto Scene he was pleased with Saturday’s turnout.  We would have to agree.  It’s definitely an event with some serious future potential.

We spent the day at the track and had a blast.  The action on both the dragstrip and drift circuit was excellent.  We’re looking forward to Boost Fest’s 2015 event.
