Chandler, ARIZ. (February 21, 2015) – Today, I had the opportunity to sit with Brittany Force for a quick interview.  She’s a former aspiring teacher turned Top Fuel Dragster pilot for John Force Racing.

Although Brittany truly enjoyed teaching children 6th through 8th grade (as a student teacher), she decided to stick to the family business of drag racing! Below is a quick look into her quest for a NHRA Top Fuel Dragster Wally.

Her world famous father, John Force, often attempts to get Brittany to make the transition to racing Funny Cars. Being that Brittany has never driven a Funny Car in the past, she would love to test in one.  She admits her Top Fuel Dragsters feel like home. She adds that it’s great not having worry about competing with teammates.

During this past off season, Brittany was fitted for a Funny Car. She had the seat poured and set up. She’s happy to have the option to test a Funny Car down the road or maybe even get licensed for one.  But she definitely has no future plans on switching over to Funny Cars, “Top Fuel Dragsters are really what I enjoy, they’re what I love and they’re faster!”

Brittany hasn’t always felt this way about T/F Dragsters. She never thought she’d be piloting one either. She recalled standing at the 1000 foot mark, watching them fly by on the track a few years back. She remembers thinking, “..those drivers area absolutely nuts, I’ll never get in one of those things..” Being the adventurous type, a couple years later she found herself taking a drive out to West Palm Beach, Florida. She was getting ready to make some runs in a T/F Dragster. Her voice quivered a bit as she explained what was going through her mind. “Holy cow what did I get myself into?”

Brittany took it easy at first in the Dragster and made her first full pass in Las Vegas, Nevada soon after testing in West Palm Beach. When she exited the dragster after that first full pass, she got a congratulatory hug from her father. Full of excitement she said to him, “Okay! You’ve got me hooked! We’re going racing!!” Now at the start of her third competitive season, Brittany is geared up to make a run for her first Wally in Top Fuel Dragster.

When asked about her personal relationship status, Brittany confirmed that she is currently dating a crew member that is part of a John Force Racing Team. She smilingly admits, “My dad likes him, so that’s good!”

Brittany is very modest and seems reserved at times. She is also very pleasant and interacts well with her fans. She’s a bit soft spoken yet fearless at the same time. Keep your eyes on this young lady, during testing in January at Wild Horse Pass, Brittany put down a blistering 3.69 at 321.88 mph, the quickest unofficial Top Fuel pass in the history of the sport.

God Speed Brittany! Thank you for the interview.
