GoFast Entertainment Puts On a Trifecta of Motorsports Madness with its JuneFest 2016

GoFast Entertainment's 2016 JuneFest

Chandler, ARIZ. (June 18, 2016) – For the past several months, GoFast Entertainment has been planning JuneFest 2016, three days of drifting and drag racing under at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park.  If that wasn’t enough to fill your senses of sight, sound and the smell of race gas, ProAutoSports Road Racing recently jumped on board to run under the lights on the West road course.  That’s right!  Three different disciplines of motorsports packed into one weekend event.

Early in the evening, the drifters took to the main drift course, some testing their skills against the course and their car, while other more experienced drivers dominated with their high horsepower, purpose built drift cars.  Filling the air with tire smoke and sparks from the cords of their tires, these guys and girls who came out to participate looked like they were having an excellent time burning race gas and rubber.

Over on the dragstrip, some drivers came out to test and tune their cars with other local drag racers to qualify their race cars for Saturday night’s Eight Mile Shootout.  With a chance to win $5000.00, these guys and girls weren’t holding back on their tunes.  In the Big Tire class, Josh Edwards qualified the Seabiscuit Racing Camaro in the No. 1 position with a 4.884 at 139.96 mph.  Jeff Bomyea earned the No. 2 qualifying position with a 5.162, 147.39 mph pass in his ’68 Camaro.  Chris DeVarney took the No. 3 spot with a 5.618, 113.87 mph run in his ’87 Mustang.  Dave Welker rounds out the top 4 with his ’89 Firebird.

In the Small Tire class, Clay Forrester locked down the No. 1 qualifying spot with a 4.843, 150.98 mph pass in his ’93 Mustang.  Doug Driggers drove “The Truck,” Arizona Race Company’s all steel bodied ’46 Dodge to the No. 2 spot with a 5.080, 142.64 mph pass.  Stephanie Strang drove her ’87 Mustang to the No. 3 spot with a 6.414, 110.03 mph pass.  Jake Strang has the No. 4 spot after running a 8.402 at 81.46 mph in his ’73 Nova.

Over on the West track, ProAutoSports took advantage of the coolness of the cover of darkness to run under the lights.  Drivers were able to take to the track in their respective classes for 20 minute track sessions around the 12 turn, 1.1 mile road course.  During the Blue/White Trophy Race, Bob Gottlieb took the checkered for the PS2 win in his BMW M3.  Aaron Hiar took the PS4 win in his Mazda Miata.

JuneFest continues on Saturday.  Along with the bid dollar drag race, Saturday will also feature a beer garden and an on site DJ.  Spectator gates open at 4:00 pm.  Head on out to Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park and check it out for yourself.

You can also check out more drifting action Sunday on the main skid pad as the drifters will be running the Formula Drift course, coming out from under the bridge and then onto the main drift course.
