Van Halen’s ’49 English Ford Thames Panel Truck

112

Anthem’s M. Van Halen shared this 1949 English Ford E83W Thames Panel Truck with our viewers.

The truck is powered by a Ford 302 mated to a C4 transmission that turns a Ford 8″ rear end.  The 302 block came out of Mexico.  A 15 gallon fuel cell feeds the 302 to keep it motoring down the road.

The front rides on a Mustang II suspensions.  The rear rides on a transverse spring, air shocks and ladder bars for traction assistance.  Weld Draglites and BF Goodrich tires put the power to the road.  Its 90″ wheel base is similar to that of an Anglia.

The all steel body is painted Rasberry.  The interior is camel tan and features power windows.
