US Navy Blue Angles Headline 2018 Luke Days at Luke AFB

Glendale, ARIZ. (March 16, 2017) – That’s right! US Navy and Marine Corp aviators are headlining the 2018 Luke Days air show at Luke Air Force Base this weekend in the West Valley.  This weekend is a great opportunity to experience the sights and sounds of Americas freedom, as well as taking in some of the best piloting skills of aviation’s best competitors.

You’ll be in awe as team Red Bull unleashed their team of rotor wing pilots, fixed wing pilots, parachutists and a winged suit pilot on the crowd from above.  Inverted helicopters, and planes flying circles around the winged suited pilot as he made his way towards the ground.  Top top it off, the Extra would later barrel roll around the Red Bull helicopter in te skies high above Like AFB.

The gates open both Saturday and Sunday at 9:00 am.  Opening ceremonies begin at 10:15 am.  Though the US Navy’s Blue Angles wont begin their show until 3:30 pm each day, their are plenty of other aerial acrobatic performers to take in while you wait for the main act.

Gary Rower will start the show off in his rotary powered 1942 Stearman bi-plane.  Shortly afterwards, Bob Freeman will be out with his Extra 330SC, hanging the plane on the prop and doing maneuvers that defy gravity.

As the Luke Days air show progresses, aircraft throughout the eras and up to the US Navy Blue Angels will be taking flight for your visual and audible sensory experience.  Head on out to Luke Air Force Base this weekend to check it out.  The show is free, but parking is not close.  Leave early to get the best parking space you can.
