Shutdown Showdown – No Prep Racing at the Top End of the Track at Wild Horse Pass

shutdown showdown

Chandler, Ariz. (August 12, 2018) – As the Monsoon storms skirted the Valley the thunder could be heard on the track at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park during GoFast Entertainment’s Shutdown Showdown.

Teams competing Saturday night were allowed one water burnout before launching to a flashlight start for an 1/8th mile race at the top end of the dragstrip.  After leaving the line it was all up to the drivers to keep the power to the track without overpowering it and keeping the car off the wall.

Three  classes ran Saturday.  Big Tire, Small Tire and Motorcycle.  The largest field was the Small Tire class with 41 competitors looking to take home a fist full of cash.

Scroll down for results and photos from Saturday’s Shutdown Showdown2.

Big Tire

Winner Christian Paulauskis and runner up Chance McKelvie running for Big Tire win.

Small Tire

Winner and defending champion Tim Rigby in the Vette and Tucson Tony in the Mustang in the finals.

In the right lane, Joseph Terranova won the Motorcycle class.
