Qualifying Complete for the Magic Dry Organic Absorbent NHRA Arizona Nationals

Chandler, ARIZ. (February 23, 2019) – After a rained out day of qualifying for the Magic Dry Organic Absorbent NHRA Arizona Nationals at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park on Friday, the skies would clear for Saturday’s session.  The cool weather would make for some great passes.

After two rounds of qualifying on Saturday, Bo Butner took the No. 1 spot with a 6.522, 211.46 mph pass in the Butner Auto Group Chevrolet Camaro.  Alex Laughlin in the Laughlin Motorsports Camaro and Jason Line in the Summit Racing Camaro rounded out the top three.

In Top Fuel Dragster, Billy Torrence qualified No. 1 with a 3.667, 328.46 mph run in the Capco Contractors MLR TFD.  Terry McMillen in the Amalie Motor Oil DSR TFD and Antron Brown in the Don Schumacher Racing Matco Tools Top Fuel Tea rounded out the top three.

Chandler’s Jim Maroney qualified No. 12 in the Diesel Tech / American Flow Tech Top Fuel Dragster.

Funny Car saw John Force Racing’s Robert Hight securing the top spot with a blistering 3.867, 329.91 mph pass in his Chevrolet Camaro.  Don Schumacher Racing’s Matt Hagan in his Dodge Hellcat and Tim Wilkerson Levi Ray & Schoup Inc Ford Mustang secured the No. 2 and No. 3 positions respectively.

Final elimination rounds begin Sunday morning.  The Midway opens at 9:00 am and Nitro elimination rounds begin at 11:00 am.

Head on out to Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park on Sunday to see some of the loudest, fastest side by side racing in the World as these 10,000 horsepower nitro methane breathing beasts attempt to tame the track for a Wally during the 2019 Magic Dry Organic Absorbent NHRA Arizona Nationals.
