GoFast Entertainment Kicks off 2020 with a Shutdown Showdown, No Prep Drag Racing at Wild Horse Pass

Chandler, ARIZ. (January 12, 2020) – GoFast Entertainment launched its 2020 drag racing with a Shutdown Showdown, no prep drag racing at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park.  Drivers came out to compete in either the Big Tire or Small Tire classes.

shutdown showdownWith our cool January temps, traction was elusive for many of those racing for the cash and trophy.  Many of the drivers got pretty out of shape and they tried to unleash all of their horsepower on the cold unprepped surface.

NHRA Top Fuel driver Leah Pritchett happened to be in town on unrelated business.  She heard about the no prep race and decided to swing by Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park to check it out for herself.  She enjoyed it so much that she braved the 40 degree temperatures to take in the final rounds on both Big Tire and Small tire.

Scroll down to check out the action at the top of the dragstrip Saturday night at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park.

With no test passes for those competing, a driver would be put onto the trailer after each pass.  Their only other option would be to buy back into a Gambler race for round losers.

Bryan Panther ran the rounds in his blown Corvette.  He went on to take the Big Tire win.

Brandon Ruiz drove his screaming fast Mitsubishi to the Small Tire win.

Barry Berger is normally pretty consistent with his Nissan GTR.  While staging for his first round, the clutches overheated and put his car into limp mode.  He bought back in and went on to win the Gambler.

Congratulations!

I’m pretty sure the 1970’s Black Corvette won Big Tire not the Camaro.
