Chandler, ARIZ. (February 25, 2016) – The NHRA Mello Yello Series completed qualifying Saturday for the 2017 Arizona Nationals at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park.  The action on the track Sunday is sure to be exciting as the pro teams enter into final eliminations on the dragstrip.

In Top Fuel Dragster, Leah Pritchett set an unofficial NHRA record after running a 3.654 at 331.85 mph in the second session of Friday’s qualifying, earning her the No. 1 qualifying position in her Don Schumacher Racing Papa  Johns Pizza Top Fuel Dragster.  By the end of Saturdays fourth qualifying session Leah would remain No. 1 in the field.  Antron Brown qualified No. 2 with a 3.667, 328.78 mph pass in the Don Schumacher Racing Matco Tools Top Fuel Dragster.  Tony “The Sarge” Schumacher is No. 3 in the US Army Top Fuel Dragster with a 3.667, 323.89 mph pass.  Steve Torrence is No. 4 with a 3.684 at 325.14 mph in the Capco Contractors Top Fuel dragster.

Jason Line holds the No. 1 Pro Stock qualifying position with a 6.509, 212.19 pass in the Summit Racing Chevrolet Camaro.  He is followed by his team mate Greg Anderson in the No. 2 qualifying position.  Anderson ran a 6.522 at 211.73 mph in his Summit Racing Chevrolet Camaro.  Tanner Gray showed he’s got what it takes, qualifying No. 3 in his Gray Motorsports’ Valvoline/Nova Services Pro Stock Chevrolet Camaro with a 6.538 at 211.79 mph.  Vincent Nobile is 4th with a 6.54, 211.43 mph pass in the Mountain View Tire and Auto Service Chevrolet Camaro.
