Chandler, Arizona (January 24, 2019) – After seven years driving the John Force Racing Advanced Auto Parts Chevrolet Funny Car, Courtney Force is hanging up her had as a Top Fuel Funny Car NHRA Mello Yello Series driver.  She is leaving the sport as NHRA’s Funny Car winningest female driver in the sport.

Courtney posted this on her Facebook page today: “After an incredible run these last seven years in my nitro funny car, I have decided it is the right time for me to step away from driving duties. Thank you SO much for all of your continued support! To my John Force Racing family, my Advance Auto Parts team, my sponsors, my competitors and especially the fans, thank you for always being so supportive in my journey in racing and I hope to have your continued support as I enter into the next chapter in life. I hope to see you all at the races! NHRA.”

Courtney raced in 167 NHRA Funny Car races since 2012.  She had 12 wins, 17 runner-up finishes and made it to the semis 29 times.  She qualified No. 1 28 times, 11 of those during the 2018 NHRA season.  Her career best was 3.815 at 338.85 mph.

John Force, Courtney’s father and 16 time Funny Car Champion has mixed feelings about Courtney’s decision to step out of the driver’s seat of her hot rod.

Brittany Force, 2017 NHRA Top Fuel Dragster Champion will continue to race in the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series.

Courtney Force plans remaining a part of NHRA drag racing in some way, but it’s not currently known what her contribution may be.
