Auburn, Indiana. December 3, 2020. Worldwide Auctioneers has confirmed today that its annual Scottsdale Auction will be staged as a live and digital event at home in Indiana, rather than at the usual Arizona venue. The boutique sale is now scheduled for Saturday, January 23rd at 11 am local time at the company’s expansive Auburn headquarters, with a hand-selected offering of prewar automobiles, classics, sports, exotics and select American muscle slated to cross the block, and 80% of consignments offered without reserve.

“Hosting the Scottsdale Auction in Auburn is the culmination of what has been an extraordinary year for all of us,” said Rod Egan, Principal and Auctioneer. “The decision to move our Arizona sale to Indiana in the new year was an easy one, given the curtailment and cancellation of so many of the live events that make up a traditional Arizona car week, amid ongoing health and safety concerns. We have already accommodated a very safe and successful live sale here in the fall with our Auburn Auction. The facility is ideally suited to the moment; extremely spacious and climate-controlled, with all recommended public health measures already in place and ample car storage. We are always driven by a determination to offer our customers the very best experience and are fortunate to be in a position to pivot quickly in these exceptional circumstances. Holding the sale in Auburn at this moment in time presents buyers and sellers with the most safe, secure and dynamic live auction environment and the ability to bid in person, on three online platforms, as well as placing absentee and telephone bids. At the end of the day that is what is in the best interests of both buyers and sellers alike. We look forward to putting our clients together with another selection of great cars in a relaxed, safe and convivial setting.”

Among the sale’s outstanding pre-war consignments is a rare 1934 Packard Twelve 1107 Phaeton with exceptional design and provenance, used by President Franklin D. Roosevelt for the Chicago dedication parade. One of only five produced and offered with only 21,000 miles, the car has been the recipient of many significant awards and multiple 100-point scores, including Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance Best in Class and CCCA Primary, Senior and Premier First Place awards.

Also slated to go under the hammer is the outstanding Steelewood Collection, an offering of 20 exceptional Woodie Wagons, selling without reserve. The majority of the cars in the collection have enjoyed complete frame-off restorations, expertly returned to factory-correct appearance, engine and components, and all are in running and driving condition. Highlights include a singular award-winning 1947 Mercury Series 79M Woodie Marmon-Herrington with pioneering four-wheel drive technology and a fully restored 1950 Mercury Series 0CM Monarch Woodie, one of only three known to exist, with just six owners from new and complete documented owner history.

Among the modern sports and supercars in this year’s line-up is one of Ford’s latest and greatest supercars, a 2017 Ford GT with just 300 miles and single ownership from new, offered with no restrictions. Selling without reserve a is pair of exceptionally well-documented Ferraris; a 1985 Ferrari 308 FTS Quattrovalvole, the last year of production for the 308 GTS model and a 2014 Ferrari F12 Berlinetta with only 4,988 original miles, presented in special order color combination. Also crossing the block in Auburn is a 1958 Scarab MkI Continuation Race Car, custom-built by Scarab Motorsports with an all-aluminum body, being number 15 of just 22 purpose-built examples.

Quality consignments are still invited and can be discussed with a specialist at +1.260.925.6789 or sales@worldwideauctioneers.com.

To be presented as a simultaneous live and online event, the Scottsdale Auction is scheduled for Saturday, January 23rd, 2021, at 11am. The sale will be staged at Kruse Plaza, Worldwide’s Auburn, Indiana headquarters, with a dedicated implementation specialist directing all event and campus COVID-19 safety protocols.
